Is it free to get the starter version of microsoft powerpoint 2010?

Sunday, December 22nd, 2013

Question by Christie: Is it free to get the starter version of microsoft powerpoint 2010?
I have Microsoft PowerPoint 2003, and I wanted to upgrade to 2010(starter), and my husband says that it costs over 180 bucks! Is it free?

Answer by plumdumplings
Office is relatively inexpensive software, so it never offers upgrades. You always have to buy the newest version. Buying a single program such as PowerPoint usually works out to be more expensive than just buying entire Office. If you do NOT need Outlook, you can buy a brand new Office Home and Student 2010 on Amazon for around $ 125 for the disk version (it lets you install on up to 3 computers) http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Office-Home-Student-2010/dp/B00337D8U6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1330819415&sr=8-1 or for around $ 106 for the product key version (you download it from the internet and enter the key – it only works on one computer) http://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-Office-Home-Student-Product/dp/B0039L31JY/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1330819415&sr=8-8

Edit: the trial version is free and is good for 30 or 60 days (I don’t remember the latest terms)

Can I put a powerpoint from my office 2007 version onto a powerpoint 2003 version?

Saturday, November 9th, 2013

Question by Victoria: Can I put a powerpoint from my office 2007 version onto a powerpoint 2003 version?
I was wondering about this, because my college professor says she has Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 version and later versions might not be able to read the file. I only have Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007. So, will a PowerPoint 2007 version work on a PowerPoint 2003 program?

Best answer:

Answer by Empire539
If you save it as a compatible format (.ppt), yes. By default, PowerPoint saves files with the .pptx extension, so be sure to change that when saving your presentation.

The other alternative is to get your professor to download a MS Office add-on that lets her read newer Office extensions, but I think the former is easier.

Also, do take note that if you use any of the new features of PowerPoint (such as animation that 2003 doesn’t have), it will not appear in the 2003 version.

What version of Powerpoint is used at school?

Friday, October 4th, 2013

Question by AnimeCanPla: What version of Powerpoint is used at school?
I’m looking to do a Powerpoint at home since I never ended up doing it in-school. I’m not sure if all schools use the same year of Powerpoint, but if they do, could somebody please tell me? Thanks.

Also, would I be able to open a Powerpoint file that I made using another version on later versions such as the one I have in school?

Best answer:

Answer by Tj
Yes, they use version 7

All files made on older PowerPoint can be opened in newer PowerPoint, but not the other way around.

Does everything Internet on an iPad show up as the mobile version?

Tuesday, September 17th, 2013

Question by Inquisitive: Does everything Internet on an iPad show up as the mobile version?
Not all sites have an option for full site when you’re on the mobile version, it’s unnecessary for an iPad for obvious reasons but I know that the iPad shares it’s operating system with the iPhone.

Best answer:

Answer by Samuel
Not everything, no. It really has to do with how the website has been configured. Some sites are set to provide the mobile version when they detect the iPad browser, some provide an iPad specific version (usually very close to the regular site), so give the regular site.

Unfortunately, it’s not something you can control in the iPad’s browser- it’s up to the site you’re visiting.
